Hiroshima Aikikai regularly holds joint examinations for promotion to higher
levels and for dan promotion. In addition, promotion examinations may be
held at each dojo.
Please refer to the "Schedule of Events" for information on
holding joint examinations. Please contact the person in charge of each
dojo for information on eligibility and application procedures.
Examination guidelines
General applicants may take examinations starting from 5th kyu, and examinations for promotion to kyu and dan are conducted in accordance with the "Examination Guidelines" (downloadable PDF version, Japanese).April 2017: Examination Guidelines revised.

Examination fees
Examination fees and registration fees are required for promotion to kyu or dan, and the fees vary depending on the kyu or dan you wish to take. For your reference, some examples are shown below. For details, please refer to the "Aikikai Foundation Fee Regulations.Please note that the examination fee and registration fee include consumption tax (tax rate of 10%: after October 1, 2019).
・For kyu 5, the examination fee is 1,100 yen, and those who pass the examination must pay an admission fee of 8,800 yen and an Aikikai Foundation registration fee of 2,200 yen.
・For 4th through 1st kyu, the examination fee is 1,100 yen, and those who pass the examination are required to pay the Aikikai Foundation registration fee of 2,200 yen.
・For Shodan, the examination fee is 2,200 yen, and those who pass the examination must also pay the Aikikai Foundation registration fee of 11,000 yen, the fee for issuing an international certificate of proficiency of 1,100 yen, and a donation of at least 1,000 yen per unit (tax exempt, as it is a donation).
